The Panel of National Experts for CCMTD Cycle III includes 15 renowned eminent endocrinologists of the country. The panel acts as an advisory body for course content, curriculum review & finalizing the course modalities.

Dr. Mithal is presently the Chairman and Head of Endocrinology and Diabetes Division at Medanta, the Medicity where he has established one of India's premier Diabetes and Endocrinology centre. Dr Mithal was the first DM in Endocrinology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (1987), and subsequently served on the faculty at Sanjay Gandhi PGI, Lucknow (1988-1998) where he was instrumental in setting up the Department of Endocrinology. He served as a senior consultant, Endocrinology and Diabetes at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi (1998-2009)
Dr Mithal is past President, Endocrine Society of India and Editor in Chief of Indian Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism. He is a board member of the International Osteoporosis Foundation where he also chairs the Nutrition Working Group. Dr Mithal has been the recipient of the Fogarty Fellowship (Harvard Medical School), Japan International Cooperation Agency Fellowship, Boy Frame Award of the ASBMR, IOF Amgen Health Professionals Award and recently the Springer citation prize 2012. His major current areas of research interest include vitamin D nutrition in Indians, diabetes and the heart and new therapies for diabetes.
Dr. Ambrish Mithal
(Gurgaon, Haryana)

Dr. Bhansali is presently the Professor and Head of Endocrinology and Metabolism at Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh. He was instrumental in setting up the newer assay technique for hormone estimation, state-of-art diabetic foot lab and facilities for clamp studies. He is the Ex-President of the Endocrine Society of India and the Founder President of the Punjab and Chandigarh Chapter of Research Society of Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI).
Dr. Bhansali has been the recipient of numerous awards and fellowships, prominent among these are the Prof. M.N. Sen ICMR award for Pituitary disorders, Prof. M. Vishwanathan award for stem cell therapy in T2DM and, Prof. Shurvir Singh award for research in diabetes, Dr. Deepak Banerjee Award, MNF Gold Medal award for best research papers and Dr. P.N. Shah Memorial Oration Award for Metabolic Bone Disease. He has been visiting professor to the University of Graz, Austria.
Dr. Bhansali's work in the field of diabetes particularly on stem cell therapy inType 2 Diabetes and newer modalities in the management of diabetic foot have been highly appreciated. Autologous stem cells therapy in T2DM has shown promising results. Newer development of off-loading systems, angioplasty and stem cells therapy in peripheral vascular disease has led to development of new centre for diabetic foot in the country. His work on newer test for establishing diagnosis of T2DM that is HbA1c has been well received, as he was the first to provide this data from Asia. He has published 300 articles in indexed, peer-reviewed International and National journals of repute in the field of Diabetes and Endocrinology. He is consistently working on epidemiology of diabetes and stem cell therapy in type 2 Diabetes.
Dr. Anil Bhansali

Dr. Sethi is a Consultant Endocrinologist in CARE Hospital, Hyderabad. He started as a Civil Assistant Surgeon in 1989 and went on to become Assistant Professor of Endocrinology in Osmania Medical College, 1991. He held the position for about 9 years. He held the position of Professor of Endocrinology in Gandhi Medical College & Hospital for around 5 years.
Dr. Sethi completed his MBBS from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad in 1982, MD (medicine) in 1986 and DM (Endocrinology) in 1988 both from PGIMER, Chandigarh. He is a life member of Endocrine Society of India, Life Member Faculty, Research Society for Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI) and visiting faculty at NIN Hyderabad. He has over 20 publications to his credit.
Dr. Bipin K. Sethi

Having completed his training at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, with a distinguished career spanning three decades. His area of expertise is Reproductive Endocrinology & Diabetes.
Dr. Prasanna Kumar is one of India's foremost endocrinologists. Well known in the Endocrine and Diabetes community as an excellent researcher and teacher, he has headed both the Endocrine Society and the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India – a rare honor. For the past 20 years, his philanthropic vision was largely responsible for the creation of the Bangalore Diabetes Hospital where he was the CEO and where each weekend a large number of children with Type I Diabetes come for comprehensive care and free insulin supplies. He has been the principal investigator in more than 100 global clinical trials and has been responsible in several early pioneering work in translational research.
Dr. K. M. Prasanna Kumar
(Bangalore, Karnataka)

Dr. Seshadri currently is the Professor of Internal Medicine & Endocrinology and Head of the Department of Endocrinology & Diabetes at Sri Ramachandra University and its medical center. He is also senior consultant at Fortis Malar Hospital. He has graduated from Madras Medical College and pursued his Post graduation in the United States as a Resident in Internal Medicine (Illinois Masonic Medical Centre, Chicago) and proceeded to complete his Fellowship in Endocrinology at Cook County Hospital, Chicago. He has obtained his American Board certification in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. In 1996, he was appointed as Lecturer in the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine.
Dr. Seshadri has several indexed publications including original work reviews, written several book chapters and is an editor of year book on diabetes published by Nature Macmillan. He holds editorial positions in several journals including Thyroid research in clinical practice and Indian Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism. He has assumed editorship of a new quarterly on endocrine reviews by nature publishing. He is currently Executive Committee member of the Endocrine Society of India and secretary of the Endocrine Society Tamilnadu.
Dr. Seshadri is a recipient of the PN Shah Oration award by the Endocrine Society, 2009. He has recently been conferred the Sam GP Moses oration by the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India, 2014. He has conducted several pivotal multi centric trials in diabetes. His special interest includes translational research in molecular markers in thyroid cancer, inflammation and diabetes and Vitamin D and glucose uptake and has published work on Vitamin D and GLUT4 expression. A Harvard Macy Scholar, Dr Seshadri has helped in developing a competency based integrated medical education curricula and helped in framing the new guidelines for the MCI. He was co-opted to the working group to develop the new undergraduate curriculum for the MCI in 2011 and is a member of the postgraduate curriculum group for Endocrinology. He currently is the member of the graduate committee for medical education constituted by the medical council of India. He has abiding interest in the Vedas, the advaitic philosophy, history of the middle Chola and Pandya kingdoms and fusion cooking
Dr. Krishna G Seshadri

Dr. Chadha M.D (Medicine), D.M (Endocrinology) is a Consulting Endocrinologist at P.D Hinduja National Hospital & Medical Research Centre, Mumbai.
Dr. Chadha has worked in University of Ulm, Germany in the Department of Endocrinology under Prof E.F. Pfeiffer and as Endocrine Specialist at King Fahd Specialist Hospital, Burayadah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 1988-90. After his return to India he was the member of the faculty in Department of Endocrinology, K.E.M. Hospital, Mumbai for 3 years and later an Associate Professor (Medicine) at M.G.M. Medical College, Navi Mumbai. Some of his Achievements includes; 1st prize for paper presentation at ESI 1995 held at Mumbai, paper entitled "Cellular cholesterol synthesis: Impaired suppression of cholesterol synthesis by LDL in Non-Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus". Faculty member of "postgraduate teaching program for Diabetes Mellitus" conducted by Research Society for Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI) in Ahmedabad in September 1996 Presentation on "Diabetes Mellitus in Pregnancy" at Annual Sri Lanka Obstetric & Gynecological Society meeting at Kandy, Sri Lanka in August 1998. Faculty member of "postgraduate teaching program for Diabetes Mellitus" conducted by RSSDI in Aurangabad in October 1998 Selected in February 1999 to be "facilitator" for conducting certificate courses in Diabetes Mellitus by Novo-Nordisk Diabetes Foundation (NNDF) in association with University of Newcastle, Australia.
Dr. Manoj Chadha
(Mumbai, Maharashtra)

Dr. Baruah is associated as a Director and Consultant Endocrinologist with Excel Centre, a multispecialty clinic in Guwahati, Assam. His research interest lies in Clinical Diabetology and Clinical Thyroidology. He completed his DM in Endocrinology from the reputed AIIMS (New Delhi).
Dr. Baruah is the Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Medical Nutrition and Nutraceuticals (ALLIANCE/MedKnow), Associate Editor of Indian Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism (ESI/MedKnow), and Thyroid Research and Practice (ITS/MedKnow). He has been on Review Panel of various journals like Journal of Midlife Health (MedKnow), Journal of Diabetes and Metabolic Disorders (Springer), Clinical Medicine Insights: Endocrinology & Metabolism (Libertas Academica). Dr Baruah has over a hundred publications in peer reviewed journals.
Dr. Baruah has played an integral part in some prestigious projects such as 'Forum for Injection Technique, India,' a Becton Dickinson initiative, 'Rationale Usage of Nutraceuticals in Disease Management'- a Zydus Nutriva initiative, 'Trans-cultural Diabetes Specific Nutrition Algorithm', an ABBOT Nutrition(I) initiative, etc. As a faculty, Dr. Baruah has immensely contributed for CCEBDM (Certificate Course in Evidence Based Diabetes Management- 2nd & 3rd cycle)- an initiative of Public Health Foundation of India & Dr. Mohan's Diabetes Education Academy, and 'Saraswati'- A Speaker Training Program (USV India initiative).
Dr. Manash P Baruah
 (Guwahati, Assam)

Dr. Tandon is currently Professor and Head, Department of Endocrinology & Metabolism at AIIMS, New Delhi, and Head, Capacity Building, Centre for Chronic Disease Control. He is an alumnus of the AIIMS, from where he also completed his MD (Internal Medicine). Subsequent to that he did his Ph.D. from University of Cambridge, UK in 1993.
Dr. Tandon, an endocrinologist by training, is an accomplished clinician researcher, with research contributions span from investigating immunological mechanisms in autoimmune thyroid disease to studying the pathogenesis of chronic disease through epidemiological studies. His ongoing research includes studying the early life influence on adult chronic disease by being an investigator in the New Delhi birth cohort, translation research in the delivery of diabetes care and collaborative research in the area of genetics of type 2 diabetes. He has more than 250 peer reviewed publications which have been cited more than 3000 times.
He has been a member of various scientific committees of the ICMR, and the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India; has helped formulate the ICMR's Management Guidelines for Type 2 Diabetes in India and is also a technical adviser to the National Program for the Prevention and Control of Diabetes, CVD and Stroke. Dr Tandon is a Fellow of the National Academy of Science, India and has been its Vice President. He is also a Fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences and has also received the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (London).
Dr. Nikhil Tandon

Dr. Marwaha has done his MBBS in 1976, M.D. (Med.) in 1984 from Delhi University. He has done his DNB (Endocrinology) from AIIMS, 1992, Molecular Endocrinology, 1993 from Middlesex Hospital London (UK) and PG Certificate Course in Hospital Management, 2000 from NIH&FW. Formerly, He was appointed as Additional Director, Senior Consultant and Head, Department of Endocrinology and Thyroid Research Centre, Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences, DRDO, Ministry of Defence. He was also President of Indian Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ISBMR).
Presently, Dr. Marwaha is working as Scientific Advisor and Senior Consultant Endocrinology, International Life Sciences Institute (India) & Project Consultant, AIIMS. He has been awarded fellowships such as Commonwealth Fellowship, 1985. W.H.O Fellowship, 1987. Fellowship in Molecular Endocrinology, 2000 (UK). His Memberships of the Academic Associations include; Endocrine Society of India, Thyroid Association of India, Association of Physicians of India, Society of Nuclear Medicine, Society of Nuclear Medicine (Northern Chapter), Research Society for study of Diabetes in India, Indian Society for Bone & Mineral Research, Asia Pacific Pediatric Endocrine Society. Dr. Marwaha has been reviewer for Lancet, JCEM, OI, Clinical Endocrinology and several other national and international journals. He worked as principle investigator in various research studies and carried out interinstitutional research projects.

Dr. Sahay is currently working as Professor of Endocrinology at the Osmania Medical College and Osmania General Hospital, Hyderabad. He is also a Consultant Endocrinologist at the Medicity Hospital, Hyderabad.
Dr. Sahay is the Hon. Secretary of South Asian Federation of Endocrine Societies, Chairman of the AP Chapter of RSSDI & Chairman Elect, Hyderabad Chapter of API. He is an Associate Editor of Indian Journal of Endocrinology & Metabolism & Journal of Clinical Diabetes. He has been awarded the Fellowship of the American College of Endocrinology in 2009, the Fellowship of the Indian College of Physicians in 2006, Fellowship of Indian Academy of Clinical Medicine 2008.
Dr. Sahay is a recipient of 'Hoechst Senior Lectureship Oration' of Association of Physicians of India, 2008 He has been Organizing Secretary of the International Clinical Update in Endocrinology 2014, First Endocrine Summit of South Asian Federation of Endocrine Societies 2013, and Annual Conference of Indian Thyroid Society in 2009. He had been invited as speaker at various National Conference such as RSSDI, APICON and Indian Thyroid Society Conference. He has over 70 publications in various National & International Journals and has authored chapters in various textbooks & monograms on Diabetes and Endocrinology.
Dr. Rakesh Kumar Sahay
(Hyderabad, Telangana)

Dr. Jayakumar is at present working as Professor of Endocrinology and Diabetes at AIMS, Cochin from April 2002. He graduated from Trivandrum Medical College and did his post graduate training in the same institution and passed M.D. in General Medicine in 1973. Later on, he did D.M. (Endocrinology) from PGIMER, Chandigarh in 1977. He was the first candidate in India to pass the DipNB examination in Endocrinology in 1978 and later on given MNAMS. In 1982, he passed the MRCP examination from U.K. and later on conferred FRCP in 1995.
He has worked in various medical colleges in the State and was Prof. and Head of Medicine in Trivandrum and Kottayam Medical College. Dr. Jayakumar is interested in Clinical Endocrinology and especially Thyroid disorders and Pubertal Disorders. He has 36 publications in various Journals. He is the editor in chief of Thyroid Research in Practice Journal and in the Editorial Board of Indian Journal of Endocrinology. He is also the Associate Editor of the RSSDI Journal, Journal of Diabetes in Developing Countries. He was awarded the Best Research Doctor of IMA Academy of Medical Specialties in 2000 and was given Best Professional Award of Indian Diabetic Education Association in 2008.
Dr. Jayakumar is the current President of Indian Thyroid Society and was previously the President of Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India. He was also the past President of Indian Endocrine Society. He has 36 publications in various Journals.

Dr. Chowdhury; DTM&H, MD in General Medicine, DM Endocrinology, MRCP (UK) is currently serving as Head, Department of Endocrinology, IPGME&R and SSKM Hospital, Calcutta, Past President, Endocrine Society of India, President of Endocrine Society of Bengal, Founder Patron, South Asian Federation of Endocrine Societies, Secretary, Research Society for Study of Diabetes in India, West Bengal Chapter.
Dr. Chowdhury was also a Member of Annual Meeting Steering Committee (AMSC), International Congress of Endocrinology jointly with Annual Scientific Conference of Endocrine Society of USA, 2014 and Member, National Advisory Board, Indian Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism.
He has been a PhD guide and is an examiner in Endocrinology in DM and DNB courses. He is a regular invited speaker at National Conferences on Diabetes and Endocrinology for more than 20 years and Principal Investigator in several International Registration Clinical Trials over last 15 years. He has published 103 papers in peer-reviewed National and International Journals.
Dr. Subhankar Chowdhury
(Kolkata, West Bengal)

Dr. Bajaj, MD (Medicine), DM (Endocrinology) is currently Director-Professor & Head of Medicine, Post Graduate Department of Medicine at MLN Medical College, Allahabad. She is heading the Research Committee of RSSDI and convenor of Credential Committee of ESI. Since 2013, she has been serving as President of South Asian Federation of Endocrine Societies and President of WENDI (Women in Endocrinology and Diabetes).
Dr. Bajaj was appointed Syllabus Chair of International Clinical Update in Endocrinology 2014 and Organizing Secretary of UPDACON 2014. She is Editor In Chief of ESI Manual of Endocrinology 2nd edition and appointed Scientific Chairperson for RSSDI 2015 and UPDACON 2015. She is also the Vice President of RSSDI, Vice-President of Endocrine Society of UP, Vice-Chairman of API-UP Chapter and Executive member of Indian Thyroid Society since 2013 onwards. In the past she served as President of Endocrine Society of India, Vice President of Diabetes India and Executive member of RSSDI.
Dr. Bajaj has been awarded numerous fellowships such as Fellowship of International College of Nutrition, WHO Fellowship in Endocrinology to visit South Illinois, USA, Rotary Vocational Excellence Award, Fellowship of Uttar Pradesh Diabetes Association and Award for Social Service. She has successfully organized largely attended scientific programs on Endocrine and Metabolic disorders, diabetic exhibitions (1st in UP) and regular camps in UP and its neighboring states. She conducted the 1st growth survey in Allahabad and has been involved in several National Diabetes Projects. She was chief-coordinator of Project MARG in Allahabad for diagnosis and prevention of obesity in children, spearheaded Type 1 diabetes campaign under the aegis of Diabetes India and is publisher of "Madhumehika", a quarterly magazine of Diabetes Education Foundation which is running successfully for the last 13 years doing yeomen community service and public awareness programs. Dr Bajaj has been invited to chair/deliver guest lectures and orations at both National & International forum. She has almost 100 publications in peer reviewed journals, monograms and books.
Dr. Sarita Bajaj
(Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh)

Dr. Kalra, DM Endocrinology (AIIMS), works as Consultant and Head of Bharti Hospital, Karnal, Haryana. Executive Editor of the Indian Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism, and Associate Editor of Thyroid Research and Practice, he serves on editorial boards of numerous national and international journals.
A Principal Investigator in over 50 phase 1, 2 and 3 clinical trials, he is also a frequent speaker at international CMEs. He has co- authored the Endocrine Society of India guidelines on Thyroid nodules, and the landmark Indian eight city epidemiological survey of thyroid disorders, In his spare time, he finds time to indulge in his favorite hobby, the Bhangra.
Dr. Sanjay Kalra
(Karnal, Haryana)

Dr. Sriram is a graduate of Madras Medical College, Chennai and Diplomat of American board of Internal Medicine, Diabetes and Endocrinology as well as Diabetes & Metabolism. She has a special interest in Gestational Diabetes, Reproductive Endocrinology, Osteoporosis and Women's health. Dr. Sriram is the Director Associate in Clinical Endocrinology and Research (ACEER), Chennai. She has been in clinical practice for past 20 years. Her areas of research have included childhood obesity, osteoporosis and polycystic ovary syndrome. She has also actively participated as principal investigator in many clinical trials. She has conducted conferences for physicians on diabetes, cardio vascular risk reduction in diabetes, growth disorders in pregnancy. Dr. Sriram is an ardent believer in ethical practice of medicine, patient and community empowerment and evidence based medicine.
